Happy St. Patricks Day everyone! St. Patricks Day is always a fun day here at Coe! Of course, it's a day full of wearing green and pinching anyone that doesn't. One of my favorite parts is waiting to see what the faculty will be wearing to class! Usually they show up wearing some crazy green outfit. One of our favorite things to do here at Coe on St. Patrick is to spend all day after class playing games out on the quad! Here is a pic from freshman year St. Patricks day, where we played basketball outside all day and grilled out on the grills outside next to the basketball court!
Today, I plan on spending all day out on the quad playing bags, basketball, can jam and spikeball! Don't worry, I plan on wearing green the whole time! Happy St. Patricks Day!

Finishing Up Senior Year
Hey all! Senior year is coming to an end, and trust me, it's coming fast! It is quite a bittersweet time for us seniors. While we are excited to move on to the next chapter in our lives, we also aren't ready to have our time at Coe done yet! Saying goodbye to our close Kohawk family is going to be a tough time! This senior year has been the best year at Coe yet. Here are some of my favorite pictures from this year:
My time at Coe has been an experience I will never forget. The friendships and memories that I have made here will last a time, and I am so happy to be a Kohawk. I know that as the rest of senior year goes on we will continue to make even more unforgettable memories!
My friends and I just hanging out!
A bunch of us football guys cheering on the soccer team!
Some of my friends and I and our girlfriends at the football banquet!
All of us senior football players together after our last game! We beat Buena Vista 33-13!
Some of the guys I went to Aspen to snowboard with!

School Spirit
Hi guys! I thought I'd take a moment to tell you guys about how much school spirit Coe has! This weekend there was a home basketball game against Luther. The games on the weekends are the best because you have all day to get your costume for the student section ready. Usually for each game we have a crazy theme that everyone dresses up for. This weekend the theme was one of my all time favorites, thrift shop. And we won the game!
We took a morning trip to a couple of thrift shops in Cedar Rapids and selected the most ridiculous and awesome clothes we could find. Another theme we did earlier this year was Kohawk pride.
Us Coe students love dressing up in crazy outfits and cheering on our fellow Kohawks! Whatever sporting event you go to here at Coe, whether it's football, volleyball, basketball, wrestling, cross country, track, swimming, soccer, baseball, softball or golf, you will always find tons of Coe students cheering on their friends!

Christmas Break
Hi all! I haven't blogged in a while, and now that we're back at school I figured I'll blog about my Christmas break! My Christmas break was full of all kinds of fun things. For Christmas, I traveled all over around Iowa. For New Year's I went to a friends cabin in NE Iowa to celebrate. But best of all, I went to Aspen!
Every year a bunch of Coe football players and TKE's take a trip to Aspen to ski and snowboard. The trip is led by our TKE mentor and a math professor here at Coe, Kent Herron. This was my 2nd year on the trip, but this trip has been going on for 20+ years. We spent all day every day on the mountain, and at nights we would hang out in the hot tub or go to downtown Aspen to see everything there! It was lots of fun!

Happy Halloween!
Hey guys! It's Halloween here at Coe College! And let me tell you, the costumes are out. Every admissions counselor in the admissions office is wearing a costume. My favorite one is our receptionist, Sharon, who is dressed up like a pink lady from Grease. A lot of the students are wearing costumes to class too, which is pretty funny.
I won't be able to wear my costume out tonight because of our football game tomorrow at Luther, but I'll definitely be sporting it out tomorrow night. This year, I'm a crayon for Halloween with some friends. Freshman year, I was Mario, sophomore year, I was a nerd, and last year, I was a heavy metal rocker. Halloween is always a very fun and exciting time at Coe!

Dinner at my Professor's House
Last night my neurobiology class had dinner at our professor's house! The professor was David Lo, a second year biology professor here at Coe. This is the third class I've had with him and it was my second time being over at his house with a class for dinner. We ate homemade Chinese food, and it was so good. I love the cafeteria but it's always nice to have a home cooked meal every once in a while.
One of the things I love about Coe is that it offers things like this. Because of our small class sizes, you really get to know your professors and they really get to know you too. Not only do they just know you, but they care about you as a person. The small class sizes are very helpful and convenient whenever you need help on assignments or for studying for tests. Your professor's are always available for consultation and conversation. Also, because of the small class sizes, you get to know everyone in your class pretty well and you make awesome new friends all the time! The smaller class size is one of my favorite aspects of Coe College.

Coming off of BYE week
Hey all! It's Friday and of course all I can think about on Friday's is the fact that we have a football game tomorrow. We had a BYE week last week so we didn't play a game. Tomorrow we play Loras and it's the start of our conference season. We're coming in with big expectations and our goal is to win the conference!
BYE week was nice, we got a lot of time off. We got some much needed rest and we are ready to get back on the field tomorrow and show what we can do! Playing football at Coe is great. The coaches are awesome and care about their players a lot. Being part of the team is a lot of fun. We have over 100 people on our team so getting to know and play with that many people rocks. I love playing football in college. Coming out onto the field and seeing tailgaters and fans waiting for the game is awesome. The atmosphere of college football is unlike anything else. So far, in my last 4 years at Coe we have a record of 24-9. It's been a great 3 years so far and I'm looking to go out with a bang along with my fellow seniors.
The high for the game is 49 degrees so it's going to be the first cold game of the season. I can't wait to get out on that field and get the W against Loras!
